In the city of Baltimore on June 13, 2021, a 28-year-old Black man named Desmond Donte Williams, known affectionately as 'Dez,' was found dead. The discovery was made at a residence in the 400 block of East 23rd Street, where first responders arrived to find Williams with severe trauma to his abdomen. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy later confirmed that the cause of death was a gunshot wound.
