In the early morning hours of Christmas Eve in 2021, the small town of Trappe, Maryland, was shattered by a violent act that claimed the life of 33-year-old Marta Merina. Shortly after 6:15 a.m., law enforcement officers from the Maryland State Police and deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 2900 block of Howell Point Road following reports of a shooting.
