In the quiet community of College Park, Maryland, a tragedy unfolded that cut short the life of a young woman. Tiffany Faye Ward, a 28-year-old Black female, was found unresponsive in her apartment on Westchester Park Drive on the morning of May 18, 2023. Emergency services were called to the scene, but tragically, she was pronounced dead. What was initially a scene of medical emergency soon turned into a homicide investigation as an autopsy revealed that Tiffany Faye Ward had died from gunshot
wounds.
The Prince George's County Police Department quickly began piecing together the events that led to her untimely death. Their investigation soon focused on a person of interest, a man who had been in a relationship with Ward. Nearly a month after her death, on June 14, 2023, authorities announced an arrest in the case. Keith Marcellus Ford, a 39-year-old from Woodbridge, Virginia, was taken into custody.
Investigators determined that Ford and Ward had been in a relationship, and while a specific motive has not been publicly released, the connection between the two was a key element in the investigation. Ford was subsequently charged with first and second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Tiffany Faye Ward. The case against him is pending as he remains in custody.
