A student at Carver Vocational-Technical High School, Braylon was found deceased in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 26, having been shot multiple times in the head. The grim discovery was made in an alleyway in the 2400 block of West Lafayette Avenue.
Investigations into the young man's death revealed a chilling narrative of a targeted attack.
Surveillance footage captured the harrowing final moments of Braylon's life, showing what appeared to be an ambush-style killing. The video depicted two suspects involved in the fatal shooting. One of the assailants was seen walking with Braylon before opening fire. Subsequently, a second individual, who had been concealed from view, emerged and also fired at the teenager. The shooting is believed to have occurred around 9:15 p.m. on Friday, March 25, several hours before his body was discovered.
In the wake of the senseless violence, those who knew Braylon remembered him as a good kid with a bright smile who was not involved in street life. His mother, in an effort to provide him with a positive environment, had arranged for him to work at a local tire shop under the mentorship of a family friend. He was described as a hard worker and a typical teenager who enjoyed being on his phone. The community was left mourning the loss of a young life with a promising future.
As of late March 2022, no arrests had been made in connection with the murder of Braylon Gannon. Law enforcement officials appealed to the public for any information that could lead to the apprehension of the individuals responsible for this violent act. A reward of up to $8,000 was offered by Metro Crime Stoppers for tips that would result in an arrest and conviction. The case, however, remains a painful and unsolved chapter for the Baltimore community.
