Do you know who murdered Andre Ballard?
On a Sunday evening in November 2012, Andre Ballard, a 43-year-old Black male, was attacked after finishing a double shift at his job in Louisville, Kentucky. The father of seven had worked at Indi's Fast Food Restaurant for eight years and was waiting for a bus at 11th and Chestnut Streets on November 18th when he was shot in the stomach. The incident was an apparent robbery, as the assailant reportedly took his cell phone and wallet. Despite his grave injuries, Ballard managed to make his way back to the restaurant, where he collapsed and help was called.

Ballard was rushed to University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries two days later on November 20, 2012. His family, who described him as a hardworking and good man, was left devastated by the senseless act of violence. They, along with members of the community, held a vigil outside of his workplace, expressing their grief and outrage over his death. Many remembered him as a man who was simply trying to provide for his family.

The Louisville Metro Police Department's Homicide Unit opened an investigation into Ballard's death, classifying it as an open homicide. However, the gunman who attacked and killed Andre Ballard has never been identified or apprehended and remains on the run. The case is one of several unsolved murders in the city, and authorities have continued to seek information from the public that could lead to a break in the case.
