In the spring of 2022, a violent encounter on a Baltimore street tragically cut short the life of 52-year-old Daniel Pitts. On the afternoon of April 14th, Pitts was discovered inside his vehicle on Pennington Avenue, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head. The initial investigation by Baltimore Police detectives pointed towards a possible road rage incident as the catalyst for the deadly shooting.
The investigation progressed over the next ten days, leading to a significant
development in the case. On April 24, 2022, authorities arrested a 17-year-old male in connection with the death of Daniel Pitts. The teenage suspect, whose name was not publicly released, was known to law enforcement prior to this incident.
Following his arrest, the 17-year-old was charged as an adult with a series of serious offenses. These charges included first-degree murder for the death of Pitts, making a false statement to the police, and various handgun possession offenses. After being charged, the teenager was held in custody to await court proceedings for his alleged role in the fatal road rage shooting.
