Herman A. Jones, Sr., a 50-year-old Baltimore Police Officer, was shot and killed on May 26, 1993, in a Chinese food carryout in East Baltimore. After completing his 4 p.m. to midnight shift, the 24-year veteran of the police force stopped at the restaurant in the 1500 block of North Gay Street to get food. While waiting for his order, three teenagers entered the establishment in an attempted robbery.
