Herman A. Jones Sr., a 50-year-old police officer with the Baltimore City Police Department, tragically lost his life on May 26, 1993. Officer Jones, who had served the department for 24 years, was off-duty and waiting for carryout food at a restaurant in the 1500 block of North Gay Street in East Baltimore when the incident occurred.
