Michael Tyrone Ross Jr., a 31-year-old Black male from Baltimore, Maryland, was a man who found his greatest joy in the company of his four children. Known affectionately as 'Mike Mike' and 'Pig,' he was a dedicated family man, always present at cookouts, holiday gatherings, and any event that brought his loved ones together. With a strong work ethic, he held various jobs in retail, construction, and landscaping.
Beyond his commitment to family and work, Michael had a zest for life, enjoying shopping, listening to music, and cheering for the Baltimore Ravens. He also had a passion for travel, often taking road trips with his children and friends, and even journeyed to Jamaica to celebrate his birthday.
The evening of May 28, 2022, brought a tragic end to Michael's life in the 400 block of N. East Avenue in Baltimore. In a violent encounter, he and two other men were shot. When police arrived at the scene around 10:48 p.m., they discovered two of the victims inside a vehicle. One of these men, a 35-year-old, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The other, later identified as 23-year-old Daywarn Edward Walker, was pronounced dead at the scene. Michael was found outside the car and was rushed to a nearby hospital, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries. His death was officially recorded on May 29, 2022.
The double homicide sent ripples of grief through the community and left Michael's family devastated. He was remembered as a man deeply motivated by his children, someone who cherished every moment he could create with them. His brother, Brandon Benjamin, had preceded him in death, and he was survived by his parents, children, another brother, and a large extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
