On a late spring evening in Baltimore, the life of Daywarn Edward Walker was tragically cut short. On May 28, 2022, the 23-year-old Black male was fatally shot in a violent encounter that also claimed the life of another man and left a third injured. The incident unfolded around 10:48 p.m. in the 400 block of North East Avenue, where police were called to the scene of a reported shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a grim scene inside a white vehicle.
Daywarn Edward Walker was discovered with gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the location. Alongside him, a 35-year-old man was also found suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg, though his injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening, and he was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
The violence of that night extended beyond the confines of the vehicle. A third victim, Michael Tyrone Ross Jr., a 31-year-old man, was located nearby, also a victim of the shooting. He was rushed to Johns Hopkins Hospital for emergency treatment but ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
In the aftermath of the deadly shooting, the Baltimore Police Department's homicide detectives launched an investigation into the deaths of Daywarn Edward Walker and Michael Tyrone Ross Jr. Authorities have appealed to the public for assistance, asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward and contact detectives or to provide anonymous tips through Metro Crime Stoppers. To date, there has been no public announcement regarding any arrests made or suspects identified in connection with the case. The investigation remains ongoing as the families and community await answers.
