In the summer of 2022, a young life was abruptly cut short in a quiet corner of Greenbelt, Maryland. Darryl Garret McRae Jr., a 20-year-old male from the nearby community of Berwyn Heights, was found shot and killed on the afternoon of Friday, June 24th. The Greenbelt Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 1:46 p.m. in the 5800 block of Cherrywood Lane. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. McRae deceased at the scene.
