In the early hours of August 30, 2022, 18-year-old Jesika Tetlow was fatally shot in a North Baltimore residence. A female, she was with friends at a house in the 500 block of Tunbridge Road, a place she often visited to play board games and occasionally spend the night. The evening took a tragic turn when five masked intruders reportedly entered the home through an unlocked back door shortly before 1:00 a.m.
According to a witness who survived the attack, the armed men, all dressed in
black, bound the occupants of the house with tape. The situation escalated when the intruders discovered that Jesika still had her cell phone. A witness recalled that the men became upset and sent her upstairs to retrieve the device. After she complied and came back downstairs, she was forced to the floor.
The assailants then made a chilling statement that only one person had to die. They proceeded to place a pillow over Jesika's head and shot her twice before fleeing the scene. When police and medics arrived at approximately 1:06 a.m., they found Jesika with a gunshot wound to the head, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
In the wake of the brutal home invasion, Jesika's mother publicly grieved the loss of her daughter, whom she lovingly called her 'sunshine.' She pleaded for anyone with information about the identities of the five masked men or the reason for the attack to come forward. The Baltimore Police Department initiated a homicide investigation, but as of the latest available information, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Jesika Tetlow. The case remains unsolved, and the perpetrators at large.
