In the early evening of October 7, 2022, in Columbia, Maryland, a dispute that had been simmering between families erupted into a fatal act of violence. Rakki Miguel Jones-Onyejiaka, a 36-year-old man, was in a parking lot on Hickory Ridge Road when he was shot. Howard County police officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 8:17 p.m. following a report of the shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Jones-Onyejiaka's body.
