On a Tuesday afternoon in Baltimore, 25-year-old Donte Miller, a male, was fatally shot. The incident occurred on November 15, 2022, in the 2600 block of East Hoffman Street. Responding to reports of a shooting at approximately 2:22 p.m., police officers discovered Miller with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
The investigation into Miller's death led homicide detectives to identify two suspects.
The first suspect, 34-year-old Tyrone Fenner, was already in custody for a handgun violation when he was charged with first-degree murder in connection with Miller's death on December 12, 2022. The second suspect, 32-year-old Clipper Jordan, was arrested by the Warrant Apprehension Task Force at a residence in the 5400 block of Force Road on January 31, 2023. Jordan was subsequently charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Both men were held at Central Booking without bail.
In December 2023, Tyrone Fenner's trial commenced. Prosecutors presented evidence that included video surveillance of Fenner's vehicle circling the area of the shooting and footage of someone exiting the vehicle just before the gunshots. Although there was no video of the actual shooting, shell casings found at the scene were consistent with a handgun found in Fenner's vehicle. A jury found Fenner guilty of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, and two weapons charges. In July 2024, a judge sentenced him to life in prison plus ten years. The co-defendant, Clipper Jordan, was scheduled to be tried separately.
