In the late hours of May 25, 2008, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a dispute over a parking space escalated into a fatal encounter for 20-year-old Corey Brooks. A student at Coastal Carolina University who also worked at the local River City Cafe, Corey was known for his warm personality and friendly smile. The night he died, he was with friends at a home on Third Avenue North during the Memorial Day Bikefest weekend when a confrontation began.
