Deputy Sheriff Roger Dale Rice Jr., aged 29, tragically lost his life on July 14, 2011, while serving with the Laurens County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina. On the night of his death, Deputy Rice was assisting officers from the Fountain Inn Police Department in locating a 38-year-old suspect who had just murdered his girlfriend.
