In the late spring of 2017, the life of 24-year-old Johnny Lee Pyles, a Black / African American male, came to a tragic end in Fountain Inn, South Carolina. On the evening of May 22, 2017, deputies from the Laurens County Sheriff's Office arrived at a residence on Tifton Court with a warrant for Pyles's arrest. They were seeking him in connection with the double homicide of Sidney Speaks and Roydrecilious Irby, who had been discovered deceased on Winetta Street in Laurens just two days prior.
