In the early morning hours of September 16, 2011, a sense of loss befell a Charleston, South Carolina family. Thomas T. Shine, a 21-year-old male, was fatally wounded by gunfire in the downtown area of the city. At the time of the incident, his family reported that he had been waiting for a ride.
