On a Friday afternoon in Baltimore, May 21, 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the downtown calm, leaving a Black/African American man, 33-year-old Tony Hedgspeth, fatally wounded. The shooting occurred in broad daylight on the 200 block of West Lexington Street. When police officers arrived at the scene, they found Hedgspeth suffering from a gunshot wound.
