In the early morning hours of Monday, June 15, 2015, the body of 21-year-old Kenneth Liggons, a Black male from Jeffersonville, was discovered by a woman and her son walking home from work in the Russell neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. Liggons was found at the intersection of 20th and Pirtle Streets. An autopsy later confirmed that he had died from a single gunshot wound to the chest.
