Darrin Michael Hailey, an 18-year-old Caucasian male, was a young man known as the 'smile of his family and the life of the party.' He was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, where he was cherished for his infectious laugh and contagious smile. He had a passion for playing basketball and was known for living life to its fullest, touching the lives of many who knew him.
On the evening of April 13, 2023, in the Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood of Louisville, tragedy struck.
In the 5200 block of Mars Court, near Sky Blue Avenue, Darrin was fatally shot. When officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department arrived at the scene around 6 p.m., they found him with gunshot wounds. Despite any efforts to help, Darrin Hailey died at the scene.
Around the same time that Darrin was discovered, another young man, 19-year-old Jadon Anderson, was taken by private means to a local hospital with gunshot wounds. Anderson also succumbed to his injuries. The Louisville Metro Police Department's Homicide Unit is investigating both deaths and is looking into whether the two shootings are related. As of now, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with Darrin Hailey's death. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward.
