In the early morning hours of June 1, 2014, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a single act of violence cut short the life of 31-year-old Charles Royal. A Black male, Royal was fatally shot in the Broadway Station area, a part of the city known for its bustling activity. The incident unfolded on Citation Way, where an altercation led to the deadly shooting.
