Keith Graham Jr., an 18-year-old African American male from Summerville, South Carolina, was at a late-night gathering at a motel on Holiday Drive when the mood shifted fast—an argument swelled into a fight, and people began trying to scatter. In the early hours of Sunday, July 19, 2015, as he was leaving, gunfire erupted inside an elevator. He was struck in the chest and rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
