On June 26, 2024, at approximately 3 a.m., 27-year-old Cody McDonald was fatally shot in his home on Cone Lane in Summerville, South Carolina. The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a shooting and found Cody on the front porch with a gunshot wound to the neck. Deputies administered chest compressions until emergency medical services arrived, but Cody was pronounced dead at 4:20 a.m.
