On New Year's Eve, a tragic incident in Gaffney, South Carolina, resulted in the death of 20-year-old Tezlar Wayne Ross. The young man was at his home with three other individuals when the fatal event occurred.
According to Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler, the group was in a bedroom looking at a. 380 handgun at approximately 6:30 p.m. Witnesses reported that Ross removed the clip from the firearm and, in a joking manner, placed the gun to his head. The weapon then discharged.
