Jalen Khallid Burton, a 23-year-old from Belton, South Carolina, tragically lost his life on March 12, 2016, following a shooting incident behind Cheers & Spirits bar on Anderson Street. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. when a large exchange of gunfire erupted behind the establishment. Burton sustained a gunshot wound to the back and was rushed to AnMed Health, where he unfortunately died during surgery due to the severity of his injuries.
