In the late spring of 2016, the life of a young entrepreneur was tragically cut short in Anderson, South Carolina. Ahmed Issam 'Ed' Fallous, a 25-year-old male, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016. Born in Greenville, SC, Fallous was known for his enterprising nature, which he had demonstrated since childhood. He was the proprietor of several businesses, including Executive Landscaping, Kid'z Kut'z, and Golden Shearz.
Fallous, a former student of Westside High School, was remembered for his bright smile and friendly demeanor, a man who could brighten anyone's day.
On that Thursday in May, Ahmed Fallous was fatally shot. An autopsy later confirmed that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to his left back that resulted in hemopneumothorax. The examination also revealed that he had been struck in the forehead with a handgun and had a defensive-type wound on his left hand. Emergency medical services were called to the scene, but their efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead upon their arrival.
The investigation into his death led to a suspect named Stephen G. Parten. Several days after the shooting, Parten was apprehended in Tennessee while he was driving a stolen vehicle. An Anderson County grand jury indicted Parten on multiple charges, including murder, kidnapping, attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, grand larceny, and first-degree burglary.
Stephen G. Parten faced a jury trial in February 2019. Following the proceedings, he was convicted of voluntary manslaughter, second-degree assault and battery, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, second-degree burglary, and grand larceny for his role in the death of Ahmed Fallous.
