On June 8, 2024, 28-year-old Ranson Tyree Strong was fatally shot at the Hampton Green and Hampton Crest Apartments on Palmetto Lane in Anderson, South Carolina. Responding to reports of gunfire around 4 p.m., Anderson County Sheriff's deputies found Strong with multiple gunshot wounds. He was initially treated at the scene, then airlifted to Prisma Health in Greenville, where he succumbed to his injuries during surgery.
