In the quiet town of Townville, South Carolina, the life of 47-year-old Jeffrey DeWitt Osborne came to a tragic and unexpected end on September 28, 2016. A local poultry farmer and a 1987 graduate of Westside High School, he was at his residence when the unthinkable happened. His own 14-year-old son, Jesse Osborne, shot him three times in the back of the head as he sat reading in a chair. This violent act was the grim prelude to a further tragedy that would soon unfold in their community.
