In the quiet community of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, the morning of October 7, 2016, was shattered by an act of brutal violence that claimed the life of 62-year-old James Harrison and two other men. Harrison was one of three victims in a triple homicide that occurred at a residence on Macio Road. The other men who lost their lives that day were identified as 47-year-old Lance Donovan Kenyon and 52-year-old Harry Lee Gressette.
Responding to the scene, Berkeley County Sheriff's
deputies quickly launched an investigation that led them to a suspect. Within a short time, authorities arrested 46-year-old Robert David Nolen in connection with the horrific crime. The investigation revealed that Nolen had shot the three men, resulting in their deaths. A fourth individual was also targeted in the attack but managed to survive and would later become a crucial witness in the case against Nolen.
Following his arrest, Robert David Nolen faced a series of serious charges, including three counts of murder for the deaths of Harrison, Kenyon, and Gressette. He was also charged with one count of attempted murder, threatening the life of a public official, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. The community was left to grapple with the senseless loss of three of its members as the legal process began to unfold. Jury selection for Nolen's trial commenced in March 2019, with the prospect of a lengthy prison sentence, potentially 30 years to life for each murder charge, hanging over the proceedings.
