In the early morning hours of a late November day in North Charleston, South Carolina, a family dispute turned deadly, leaving a young man's life cut short and his older brother facing a murder charge. The tragic events unfolded on November 27, 2016, near the Pine Crest Apartments on Lambs Road. Tre Desaussure, a 24-year-old Black male, was fatally shot during an altercation with his brother.
Police were called to the scene around 2 a.m. and discovered Tre's body behind a car.
Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the location. The subsequent investigation by the North Charleston Police Department revealed that an ongoing dispute between Tre and his 28-year-old brother, Marquis Desaussure, had escalated into a physical fight. During the confrontation, Marquis allegedly brandished a firearm and shot his younger brother.
Following the incident, Marquis Desaussure was arrested and charged with murder and weapons possession in connection with Tre's death. He was subsequently denied bond. The case highlighted the devastating consequences of familial violence and the tragic end to a dispute between siblings.
