In the quiet evening of May 30, 2018, the life of 20-year-old Stacey Bradley II was tragically cut short by gunfire outside the Archdale Forest Apartments in North Charleston, South Carolina. Bradley, a resident of Ladson, was discovered by police shortly before 8:00 p.m. suffering from fatal injuries at the scene.
The investigation into the death of the young man, who was a graduate of Fort Dorchester High school, uncovered a tragic story of a deadly setup.
According to the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office, Bradley had arranged to meet a woman at the apartment complex for sex. Unbeknownst to him, the encounter was a trap orchestrated to rob him.
Three individuals were ultimately arrested and charged in connection with the murder of Stacey Bradley. Audra Scott, then 19, was identified as the woman who lured Bradley to the apartment complex. She was charged with murder and armed robbery. Two brothers, 21-year-old Tariq Shabbir and 19-year-old Jalil Shabbir, were also arrested and faced charges of murder, armed robbery, and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.
Investigators determined that the Shabbir brothers ambushed Bradley with the intent to rob him, and during the commission of the crime, he was fatally shot. The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office, in their announcement of the arrests, detailed how the plan was for Scott to engage with Bradley while the two brothers would rob him. The tragic outcome of this planned robbery was the senseless death of a young man.
