In the spring of 2017, the community of North Augusta, South Carolina, was touched by the death of Rodney Bakari Johnson. A man of 40 years, he passed away on April 6, 2017. Reports indicate that Johnson died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Known to his friends and family by the nickname 'Slim', Johnson was a 1995 graduate of Aiken High School and had attended Benedict College. He was an employee at the T-Mobile call center in Augusta. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, where ...
