In the winter of 2016, a 50-year-old Black male named Dewayne Logan was found with a fatal gunshot wound inside his pickup truck in the Russell neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. The discovery was made on the evening of December 21st, after police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of 28th Street and Elliott Avenue. Initially, officers arriving at the scene could not locate a victim.
