Do you know who murdered Dewayne Logan? In the winter of 2016, a 50-year-old Black male named Dewayne Logan was found with a fatal gunshot wound inside his pickup truck in the Russell neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. The discovery was made on the evening of December 21st, after police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of 28th Street and Elliott Avenue. Initially, officers arriving at the scene could not locate a victim.
A short time later, Logan was discovered inside his truck, which was located at 28th
Street and Plymouth Alley. He was rushed to the University of Louisville Hospital's Emergency Room, where he succumbed to his injuries that same evening. Investigators were left to piece together the events that led to the shooting and to determine if Logan had driven himself to the location where he was ultimately found.
Neighbors in the Russell community reported hearing the sound of multiple gunshots on the night of the incident. In the immediate aftermath, the Louisville Metro Police Department had no suspects in connection with the shooting. The case was classified as a homicide. As of public records, the death of Dewayne Logan remains an open investigation, and no arrests have been announced in connection to his murder.
