On July 5, 2017, 20-year-old Mayra Sanchez was tragically shot and later died in Columbia, South Carolina. The incident occurred early in the morning around 4:30 AM when she was dropped off at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital by her boyfriend, Albertus Lewis. According to reports, Lewis placed Sanchez in a wheelchair and left her at the hospital before fleeing the scene.
