On the last day of 2017, a senseless act of violence cut short the life of 39-year-old Jermaine Bruster in Greenville, South Carolina. The male victim was fatally shot on New Year's Eve during a robbery at the Racer Court Apartments. The assailants made away with a wristwatch and a mere $80 in cash, a paltry sum for a man's life.
The investigation into the death of Jermaine Bruster led to the identification and arrest of four individuals. Two men, Raymond Martinez Jr.
and Robert Belcher III, were charged with murder, armed robbery, and first-degree burglary. Their trial concluded with guilty verdicts on all counts, resulting in each man receiving a lengthy 45-year prison sentence for their roles in the brutal slaying.
In addition to Martinez and Belcher, two other accomplices were implicated in the crime. These individuals chose to cooperate with prosecutors and pleaded guilty to their involvement in the robbery that led to the tragic death of Jermaine Bruster.
