Payton Robert Antonio Velarde, a 15-year-old from Hanahan, South Carolina, was tragically killed on April 27, 2018. At around 1:17 a.m., Payton was gunned down at the intersection of Belvedere and Sedgefield drives in Hanahan. Known for his friendly nature and a tattoo of three roses on his forearm, Payton was beloved by his friends and community. His death was a significant shock to the area, as such violent incidents were considered rare.
