In the autumn of 2018, the life of 19-year-old Jayquan R. Hughes was tragically cut short in Columbia, South Carolina. On the evening of November 26th, deputies from the Richland County Sheriff's Department were called to the 1800 block of Crestview Avenue around 8:30 p.m. following reports of a shooting. There they discovered Hughes with a gunshot wound to his lower body.
