Jayla Thomas-Smith, a 21-year-old woman from Greenville, South Carolina, tragically lost her life on February 24, 2019. Initially, her death was reported as a result of a car accident near the intersection of Old Pelzer Road and Piedmont Highway. However, further investigation revealed that she had been shot, and her death was subsequently ruled a homicide. The Greenville County Coroner's Office confirmed that Thomas-Smith died from a gunshot wound, not from injuries sustained in a crash.
