Evan Jeffery Gaines, a 22-year-old student at the University of South Carolina Upstate, tragically lost his life on March 26, 2019. Gaines was found with a gunshot wound at his off-campus residence, Campus Edge Apartments, located on Pinegate Drive in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
