In the early morning hours of July 25, 2021, the life of Corey Satrell Jackson, a 39-year-old Black male from Spartanburg, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. Gunshots echoed on Ebel Court, and when law enforcement arrived around 2:19 a.m., they discovered Jackson deceased in his own front yard, a victim of fatal gunshot wounds. Known affectionately as 'Big Cee' to his friends and family, he was a beloved father, son, and brother in his community.

figure in Spartanburg, remembered by loved ones as a kind and generous man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was a devoted father to his young son and shared a close bond with his mother. His death sent shockwaves through the community, leaving his family heartbroken and searching for answers. The outpouring of grief was evident as nearly 2,000 people attended his funeral to pay their respects.
In the wake of the shooting, the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office launched a homicide investigation. However, the case quickly grew cold, with investigators struggling to identify any suspects or a motive for the senseless killing. Weeks turned into months, and with no significant leads, the investigation stalled. Initially set at $6,000, the reward was later increased to $10,000 in the hopes of encouraging someone to come forward. To this day, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in the murder of Corey Satrell Jackson, leaving his family and community still waiting for closure.
