In the late summer of 2019, the life of 37-year-old Lonndon Latrell Fuller was tragically cut short in Spartanburg, South Carolina. On the evening of Wednesday, September 11, Fuller was fatally shot while sitting inside a pickup truck near the intersection of Woodward Avenue and North Dean Street. The incident was not believed to be a random act of violence; investigators stated that they thought Fuller was familiar with his assailants.
According to the Spartanburg Police Department, it
is believed that Fuller had a brief conversation with at least two men before the shooting occurred. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a two-tone Dodge Charger or Avenger, with a gray top and a dark-colored bottom or black molding, leaving the area shortly after the gunshots rang out. Authorities publicly appealed for the suspects to turn themselves in to peacefully resolve the case.
Despite the initial leads and the belief that the victim knew his attackers, the investigation into Lonndon Latrell Fuller's death has not led to any arrests. As of late 2025, his case is considered an unsolved murder. The Spartanburg community was left to mourn the loss of a man who was a native of the city, and his family continues to await justice.
