Leonard Lee Lyles III, aged 36, tragically passed away on August 28, 2021, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The incident occurred around 4:20 a.m. on Oliver Street, where Lyles was shot multiple times in the legs and upper body while standing near the road. Witnesses reported that the shooting happened as Lyles was conversing with another man in front of a house. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Lyles succumbed to his injuries five weeks later.
