David Alston, a 40-year-old male, was fatally shot on November 16, 2019, in the West Ashley area of Charleston, South Carolina. The incident, which took place at an apartment complex, was determined to be a homicide.

Reports from the time of the shooting indicated that the killing was the result of a domestic dispute. It was reported that the suspect had allegedly been stalking and threatening his ex-wife prior to the fatal shooting of her boyfriend, David Alston.
