David Alston, a 40-year-old male, was fatally shot on November 16, 2019, in the West Ashley area of Charleston, South Carolina. The incident, which took place at an apartment complex, was determined to be a homicide.
Reports from the time of the shooting indicated that the killing was the result of a domestic dispute. It was reported that the suspect had allegedly been stalking and threatening his ex-wife prior to the fatal shooting of her boyfriend, David Alston.
Shortly after
the incident, police arrested Albert Raheem Jackson in connection with Alston's death. Jackson was charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. Following his arrest, he was held in custody awaiting trial.
Subsequent court proceedings found Albert Raheem Jackson guilty of the murder of David Alston. In February 2022, Jackson was sentenced to 50 years in prison for the murder and a concurrent sentence of five years for the weapons charge. He is currently incarcerated and is not eligible for parole.
