Devin Sesay, a 17-year-old Atherton High School student and football player, was tragically shot and killed on June 13, 2019, in the Smoketown neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. He was walking home from playing basketball at Shelby Park when gunfire erupted from a passing car near Roselane Street, just a few doors down from his home. His family, who had moved to the U.S. years earlier to escape conflict in Liberia, was devastated by his death.
