Do you know who murdered Devin Sesay? In the summer of 2019, the life of 17-year-old Devin Sesay was cut short by a senseless act of violence in Louisville, Kentucky. On the warm evening of June 13th, Devin was walking home after playing basketball at a nearby park in the Smoketown neighborhood, a place he knew well. Just a few feet from his own front door on Roselane Street, near Clay Street, the sound of gunfire shattered the midnight air. A car drove by, and shots were fired, striking Devin.
He was found on the pavement, his life tragically ending where he should have been safest.
The aftermath of Devin's death left his family reeling in a nightmare of grief and disbelief. His aunt, Sietta Karneh, spoke of the immense loss, emphasizing that Devin was not involved in gangs or any illicit activities. He was a young man with a future, a beloved son and brother. Devin's family had sought refuge in the United States, hoping to escape turmoil in their home country, only to be confronted with more violence in the community they had hoped would be a safe haven. The pain was compounded by the fact that the perpetrators remained at large, with the Louisville Metro Police Department having no new leads or suspects in the immediate wake of the shooting.

Tragically, just ten days after Devin was killed, another young man, 20-year-old Tyrese Garvin, was shot and killed in a separate drive-by shooting in almost the exact same location.
