In the spring of 2021, the life of 29-year-old Tevin Aamar Wise, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Columbia, South Carolina. On the evening of April 14th, at approximately 10:45 p.m., events unfolded at the Brook Pines apartments on Broad River Road that would end in his untimely death. Responding to a call, officers from the Columbia Police Department arrived at the apartment complex to find Wise, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
