In the spring of 2021, the life of 21-year-old Markel Donnell Maxwell was tragically cut short in North Charleston, South Carolina. On the evening of May 7th, officers from the North Charleston Police Department responded to a call on Parana Street, where they discovered Maxwell inside a vehicle, suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate medical attention provided by the officers at the scene, he succumbed to his injuries. Markel was a Black male.
