Direko Thomas, an 18-year-old from Columbia, South Carolina, was tragically shot and killed on July 24, 2021, in West Columbia. The incident occurred on Miranda Road, where Thomas sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. The Lexington County Coroner, Margaret Fisher, confirmed that Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene.
