In the early hours of Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022, the life of 17-year-old Desmond 'Des' Wilson Jr. was tragically cut short in Columbia, South Carolina. Just after midnight, deputies from the Richland County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex on Garners Ferry Road. Upon their arrival, they discovered the young Black male's body in the breezeway of one of the buildings. He had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
