A 20-year-old Black male named Terron Hubert, known affectionately to friends and family as 'TJ,' lost his life in a senseless act of violence. His body was discovered on the morning of June 6 by a woman walking along a trail in Quigley Park near Lake Wylie. Hubert had been shot multiple times near a fishing pier and gazebo. He was found fully clothed, but with no identification on him.
The investigation determined that he had likely been killed late on the night of June 5. Those who knew him described him as a respectful, humble, and funny young man who was deeply loved by his family and had no known enemies.
For two months, the case remained unsolved, leaving a community in mourning and a family desperate for answers. The York County Sheriff's Office issued public pleas for any information that could lead to an arrest.
