In the late summer evening of August 13, 2022, in Conway, South Carolina, the life of 14-year-old Christopher Noah Stephen Garrett was tragically cut short. The young male was discovered in a wooded area near his home on Barons Bluff Road, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. First responders, arriving at the scene following reports of gunfire around 5:30 p.m., found him lying on his back with several bleeding wounds and confirmed he was deceased.
An investigation into the shooting
led authorities to another juvenile, Damian Rodriguez. In the days following Garrett's death, Rodriguez was taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting. In December 2023, then 16-year-old Damian Rodriguez pleaded guilty to the murder of Christopher Garrett.
